What is Stellar Lumens (XLM)?

Stellar Lumens (XLM) is a network of decentralized servers in different locations with distributed ledger technology. When a person deposits money, it is credited to the ledger and issues XLM-Lumen in return. These accounts are held in a virtual wallet in exchange for money deposited. Exported XLM can be sent and received by people in the network.

One of the features of the XLM network is that it can convert different currencies sent at low exchange rates. For example; You can send EUR and receive USD in return.

Stellar was founded by Jed Mccaleb, a US software developer and entrepreneur, who is also the founder of Ripple. Although both companies were founded by the same person, there are serious differences. Stellar.org operates as a non-profit organization and aims to provide low-cost financial services to people to prevent poverty. Ripple (XRP), on the other hand, collaborates with large banks with a more top-down approach.

Lumens are cryptocurrencies that can be used to buy goods and services. In this respect, they are similar to Bitcoin. In addition, tokens can be produced and smart contracts can be run on the Stellar platform, similar to Ethereum in this respect.
